More Florida Fun
After a few nights with my folks in Jacksonville, we headed Southwest towards Tampa. Meri Jane’s god-daughter Tiffany (and her mom Debbie) live in a charming little area South of Lakeland called Mulberry. Debbie’s husband Tony has an auto repair shop, Debbie runs a delightful new pottery studio called Muddy Hands in the center of town (more on that including a ton of pix tomorrow…:).
MJ was able to hang out with Tiffany for a few hours and play with her two little ones Cash and Presley and we plugged into an outdoor outlet that had its own 30A breaker…ahhhh. We were also able to see Tony and their other two girls Trinity and Taryn. I kept track of the puppies and started to get them suited up for their big Halloween extravaganza. They knew they had excellent costumes and had been waiting all week for the “big reveal”.
It was nice to relax for the evening…and after all, it was Halloween. Candy materialized and we waited for the big flaming ball of hydrogen at the center of the solar system to dim a little. This brought forth sixteen or seventeen squadrons of mosquitos (gotta love Polk County, right?), but I mainly hid inside – preferring Twizzlers and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups to “the Zika”.
Pew! Pew! Pew Pew Pew! Pew! Pew Pew! Pew!
Somewhere along the way, a new carbine. Because, why not, right? One of us was a Florida resident (drivers’ license and all) at that particular moment, so it made sense to not go in and out of Florida without a new firearm.
Everyone needs another 10/22.
It’s a shame the 25-round magazine is so ostentacious.
I am definitely a bigger fan of the 15-round magazine from a look and feel perspective so that’s probably what will stay on there most of the time (until the “tragic boating accident” that my astrologer has warned me is in my immedate future). These are just geat little “varmint guns”.
It wouldn’t be right to be out here camping with three small dogs and not have the means of defending them from a random predator when they’re trying to take a dump one night. Glad this is America and we, you know, have that option. But I digress…lol Here it is with the 15-round magazine.
Without further delay…
The puppies are getting antsy and really want to show off their costumes. OK.
I was very impressed with the Halloween costumes that the puppies picked out – see if you can tell whom is whom.
The puppies really nailed it…:)
So, uh…yeah. Debbie does have two lovely horses and one of the ponies was there as well. I always love feeding them whenever we get a chance to stop by – this was a regular destination every other month or so when we lived in Miami. These majestic animals seemed to remember me…they definitely remembered carrots and apples.
We rested for the night and readied ourselves for a morning tour of and shopping spree at Debbie’s new pottery studio the next day…:)
