Three Down, Over Thirty To Go
Day Three of #BigRoadTrip2016 started off in Arkansas – at the Tom Sawyer RV Park in West Memphis, AR.
If you missed Day 2, check here:
This is a great park with very reasonable rates located right on the river in between West Memphis and Memphis. There’s a treehouse on the property, and you get to watch all of the riverine tugboat/barge activity…very cool stuff. They definitely look different from the ocean-going tugs I’m familiar with…but you can still feel just how powerful they are as they churn upstream.

Alabama, Here We Come
We set off pretty much due South as we headed for the Florida Gulf Coast. We potentially had a friend from Gulf Shores meeting up with us near the Florida/Alabama line so off we went…
Arrival in Alabama…oops, Florida
We checked into a very nice RV Park on Perdido Key in Pensacola Beach, FL. We arrived late and left early, and it really felt like an on-season not an off-season rate (we’re 73 feet from the beach here in Myrtle, paying less for two nights than we paid for one there). So, I’m not going to mention those folks much…lol
Day 4 – I did get some pictures
But really, the road was pretty boring. It’s the 10 Freeway, and of course it doesn’t do much other than go straight and turn a degree or two every half hour or so.
By this point, we were certainly ready to relax for a few hours, and my parents’ beautiful house in Jacksonville did not disappoint…:)
