You see, our friend Yuri Alexandrovich Bezmenov (Russian: Юрий Александрович Безменов, aka Tomas David Schuman; 1939 – 1993) worked for those fine folks over at the Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnoti. You may know of them as the KGB. Or whatever they’re calling themselves this week. Yuri started out as a journalist, but wound up working for the organs of State Security.
In 1970, he defected. Some of this is obviously dated…the first of the interviews was conducted in 1983 or 1984. Gotta love hearing it from someone inside the bowels of the дезинформация machine itself…lol
However, some of this stuff is “just Russians being Russian” – at least for as long as I’ve been alive…:) Which means it’s very, very topical today.
You may need more than one setting, these aren’t short. This is just an amazing eye-opening view into how some of this stuff has always been done and will always be done at the “macro” level, folks. The map may change, the board may change, the actors may change – but the game remains the same. And there aren’t any rules when you’re playing for stakes this high.
